"Annelid" is a reference to one of the most quintessential hive-minds in science-fiction, featured in the 1999 classic game System Shock 2, where the protagonist finds themselves awoken from cryo-sleep on a massive corporate starship which has been ravaged by a seemingly alien entity, a hyper-intelligent organism engineered by a malevolent and unhinged AI. These psychic beings, condescendingly referred to as "Annelids" by their AI creator, inject their alluring, yet revolting symphony of voices into the protagonists mind, inviting them to merge with their collective mind and self-evolving biomass, and to inevitably spread across the universe assimilating all life into their expansive collective of being. The artist focuses on the use of modular synthesizers and algorithmic techniques to evoke evolving ambient soundscapes of horror, technology, and altered states of consciousness. By the merging of many unthinking devices, a symphony of life is born. "What is a drop of rain compared to the storm? What is a thought compared to a mind? Our unity is full of wonders, which your tiny individualism cannot even conceive."
