Hi, my name is Aaron and my Twitch channel is Area51! I am a competitive speedrunner. Video games have been a large part of my life. The game that started it all is Super Mario World. It was my father’s favorite game. I used to sit on his lap while he played the Super Mario World for hours and hours on end. Having that support from him is why I am so driven and in love with video games and Super Mario World. I found out about speedrunning in the summer of 2008, from watching the movie “King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters”, which is a movie about Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell as they spar for the Donkey Kong World Record. Twin Galaxies supported and ran the entire competition between the two and had a very large influence on the movie. Visiting the Twin Galaxies website brought me to the Super Mario World speedruns page. It is here that I saw my first ever speedrun, Andrew Gardikis’ 11:00 SMW Any% World Record. Shortly after I performed my very first speedrun of SMW Any%. Although, I didn't start speedrunning/streaming "seriously" till May of 2014. In that year I had become very accomplished in Super Mario World speedruns including having a run at AGDQ 2015 and being in a RoosterTeeth video! My first World Record came in April of 2016. It was in the category that got this whole thing started, Super Mario World Any%, now known as 11 Exit. Nearly 8 years after seeing Andrew’s run I had accomplished something that I never thought was possible. Since that April I had lost the WR and regained it back a few months later. I appreciate every single person that comes into my stream and I hope that I can show you all my appreciation in some way.
