Hi, my name is Mafaaz. I'm an amateur player with a passion for Chess and sharing what I learn from it with others. I started playing at age 11 when it was introduced in my school as an extra-curricular activity. My career includes work as a university lecturer (visiting faculty) for a little over a year. It gave me the opportunity to interact with business undergraduate students which was an amazing experience and fueled my passion for mentoring and guiding others to the best of my ability. Art Vega is an Italian - Spanish name that I came across a while ago. I like it because it just rolls off the tongue which is why I use it as an alias. I play mostly on lichess.org and occasionally on chess.com

Power outages are a common occurrence where I live, especially in summers due to increased electricity usage. I stream during local night times when outages are relatively less common. Eventually, I hope to set up a back-up system to avoid any abrupt stream stoppage. In the meantime I do apologize if the stream stops at times due to a power outage. Usually I am back on as soon as the power gets restored but sometimes the outage can last longer.
