Hello and welcome! I am BAdPikaPi and I am a full time Twitch streamer, Actress, Model, and Podcaster. I battle with chronic, invisible illness and am an ambassador for those battling with chronic illness, especially invisible illnesses. I started streaming July 2021 and hit Affiliate after just 5 streams. Since then I have been amazed at the community (lovingly called BAddies) that has been built up around me, and I am extremely excited to see where this takes us! I love talking with good people and enjoy making a space that is warm, welcoming, and where everyone can come to catch up with each other, relax, and forget the world for a few hours. ( ◕◡◕)っ ♡ I've been playing videogames since before I was 2 yrs old. I even have an adorable photo of myself when I was 2 playing Super Mario Bros on the NES. (◠‿◠✿) I'll add more about me once I get some sleep ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ

F.A.Q

**How do you pronounce your name?** Bad-Pika-pea **What does your name mean?** The B and A are capitalized, which stands for Badass, PikaPi is a small, cute mouse animal and it says "pi" when it talks. ≧◉ᴥ◉≦ **What chronic, invisible illness do you deal with?** I battle multiple autoimmune diseases. Usually when you have one, it's only a matter of time before more follow. Overall, my body deals with widespread inflammation everywhere; joints, tendons, ligaments, organs, etc. Some, but not all I have been diagnosed with (by specialists, not WebMD) are; MCAS, POTs, arthritis, drug-induced Lupus, Crohns, Endometriosis, Hypermobility (EDS), Linear IGA, Fibromyalgia. The first medicine I was put on to help manage the first few diseases was Humira, and it led me to develop Linear IGA as well as an unknown diagnosis that ultimately led to complications with a surgery that was probably my most traumatic health experience so far. Unfortunately with chronic illness, you often have to choose between a rock and a hard place. So every day is an unknown and just have to hope for the best and plan for the worst. <3 **So what does all that mean?** Essentially, I am always in pain, always tired, and always just trying to do my best to live as normal of a life as possible and not 'look sick'. Each diagnosis has it's own 'adventure' of symptoms, but all in all i have 'good days' which might be equivalent to a healthy person's sick day that they would possibly stay home from work/school for a day, to 'bad days' where I sometimes an unable to eat, walk, think, and all I can muster up to do is to just exist. I occasionally will have 'flare-up' which happens about once a month or two on average. Every now and then, usually 1-2 times a year I have a severe complication or need of surgery for one or more of the disease I battle. And so far have almost died due to complications 4 times, the last one being the most traumatic in 2019. Every day for me is like living in my own 'choose your own adventure book', but I don't get to choose which adventure, and it's not usually very fun. When it comes to energy when battling invisible illness and not 'looking' sick, a great example, called The Spoon Theory can be found here: [The Spoon Theory](https://butyoudontlooksick.com/articles/written-by-christine/the-spoon-theory/) **What exactly is Autoimmune disease?** Google describes it as follows: "Autoimmune disease happens when the body's natural defense system can't tell the difference between your own cells and foreign cells, causing the body to mistakenly attack normal cells. There are more than 80 types of autoimmune diseases that affect a wide range of body parts." In other words, the immune system starts acting like a bunch of kids hyped up on a thousand Pixie Stix they got fed after midnight and takes it out on the house. The house is the body, the kids are the immune system. Not a perfect metaphor, but you get the idea. **How come you weren't on when you were scheduled to stream?** Due to living with chronic illnesses, it makes it very difficult to be consistent, reliable, or sometimes even able to generally function. Due to this, I have a lot of strategies I use to help me keep my schedule as much as possible, but sometimes it means I start stream late or I have to skip a stream. When this happens it will usually be short-notice, since every day is like a box of chocolates, I never know what I'm gonna get or feel that day. But I do my best to always keep my Discord channel updated when I am running late or have to skip a stream, so make sure you join my Discord so you never miss out on a stream! I own the following gaming systems: Atarti, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, XBox, XBox 360, XBox One, Playstation 2 slim, Playstation, Wii, Switch, Game Boy systems (original, Color, Advance, Advance SP, Micro, DS Lite, 3DS), Custom build gaming PC, Mac & Windows OS. I primarily have been streaming on my new pc build and Switch, but plan on incorporating more of my systems in the future.
