FAQ: Q: Are you completely blind? A: Yes, I am considered completely blind. I have a degenerative genetic condition called RP (Retinitis Pigmentosa) and lost my sight over time. I currently have the slightest bit of light perception but it is not useful in any way. Feel free to ask further questions in chat. Q: How long have you been cooking? A: I really only got serious about cooking in 2018. before that I can only claim to have heated food up occasionally. Q: What got you into cooking? A:I, like many other Americans, had a horrible diet. And every reason to believe I was a terrible cook. And then I got ill. Then I got more ill. and eventually I was spending more time in bed or in pain than being an active participant in my life. After many years of specialists and multiple diagnoses, I did something drastic: I decided to start eating better. I went hard-core mode and stripped my diet to chicken and green veggies and only ate what I prepared myself. Over time, I started adding things in bit by bit to allow my body to adjust and decide what it could handle. These choices changed my life in ways I never imagined. And with each year my love for food, life and learning has grown. Q: What got you into streaming? A: A dear friend named Contracrostics did. He was my greatest support along this journey. He saw what I was doing and what I had to say as being important and so he made it his mission to find a way to give me a platform to share it. He is absolutely the reason this stream exists. Q: Are you married / do you have a boy/girlfriend? A: I generally have not found it in my best interest to discuss my romantic life on stream. Q: How do you read chat? A: I have a TTS program called NVDA. It is a fantastic free and open source program that is a great resource for the. blind. I can turn it on and let you hear a bit if you ask. Q: Do you cut or burn yourself a lot? A: According to viewers, I do it less often than sighted people.
