My name is Jo!
Am I actually a cyborg? Yes.
Even when I could barely hold a crayon I had a passion for art, telling stories, and playing video games. As I grew older I developed an interest in another thing: serving the United States. 2 weeks after graduating highschool I found myself in basic training for the USAF. It felt like home and I found a second family that will always have my back.
Sadly, my service was cut short due to a bad reaction to the antibiotic Cipro. It caused me severe nerve damage that has left me disabled. It was a huge struggle for a long time and I was taking pills 4 times a day just to get a little bit of pain relief.
Fast forward to December 2018: The Implant.
This thing has helped me come off several medications and saved my life. I really wasn’t sure if I could take my almost daily 8-10/10 pain level much longer. I’m doing my best with physical therapy, but find I am still just as limited.
