# Welcome to my stream! I’m so glad you're here! I started this channel in April 2020, on a whim, as a way to stay sane doing the thing I have loved since I was a little girl: listening to music and playing it for my friends. I had no idea that it would grow into a place where people would come together, connect with old friends, make new ones, find new music - or maybe just have a good night and forget our troubles. Now I wouldn’t know what to do without the amazing community of music lovers and friends from all over the world we have discovered here. Rest assured, I’m not going anywhere when things go back to “normal”! In the “before times” DJ Melting Girl spun Goth, Industrial, Post-Punk, Darkwave and 80’s for over 25 years in San Francisco. I’ve been a resident DJ at Death Guild, the longest running weekly gothic/industrial club in the U.S., for nearly all of its ongoing 27-year run. I also co-host a monthly club called Nightshift where the focus is on the new Post-Punk, Darkwave, Minimal and Synthwave genres. I’m also a member of Anthony Jones’ live band, a project that I treasure. In the past I’ve DJed and camped with Death Guild Thunderdome for 9 years at Burning Man, as well as DJed for ShadowDance, 1984, BaGG, and Dark Shadows for many years. In addition to my current and former residences I’ve also guest DJed at countless other goth/industrial clubs and live shows over the years. The stream is produced by my amazing fiancé Nick, @Xunqualyn, or just “X”. He is my mod, camera operator, request taker, bartender, graphic designer, and a hundred other jobs that need to be done to make this stream go. We stream from our living room in Oakland, CA.

If you would like to make a request, please whisper it to @Xunqualyn during the stream, or post it on the event page on Facebook before the event. To whisper him during the stream, enter “/w Xunqualyn” in the chat box (without the quotes) or click on his name in chat and select Whisper. He can miss your request if you just blurt it out in chat! Some things to consider when making requests: + Don’t be afraid to make a request! X is nice and is happy to help you along. + Please request an actual song. A list of your favorite bands is not a request. + Keep in mind which event we’re running! Each night has a different musical theme. He might tell you to come back for one of our other nights, but please don’t be offended! + Sometimes a request is great, but the set is going in a different direction (faster/slower/harder/softer etc.) and we don’t like to leave requests up forever. If it disappears, just send a different request when you think of one. + The only night we play “oldies” is Sunday, with few exceptions. This is the #1 reason a song won’t be played. + Sometimes MG just doesn’t have it! She always writes requests down she doesn’t have to investigate after the stream is over. Check back in a week or two and see if she got it! + Again, please don’t post requests directly in the chat. The chat often moves quickly and because we are doing other things at the same time it is often be missed. + A pentagram next to a song title means that the request was made by someone who has “paid their cover” for the night via the tip link or has done a lot of cheering or gift subs. Requests are open to all, but some priority is given to these requests. Let X know if he forgot your pentagram. Remember, even when you tip there is no guarantee MG will play your song.
