stevage is a Los Angeles-based DJ with a passion for driving deep/afro house. His musical journey began at an early age, gaining foundations in music theory while learning to play piano and alto saxophone. Later, he was inspired by DJ Qbert and the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, a group of Filipino-American turntablists, and their eccentric style for using turntables as instruments. Soon after that, he began DJing various local gigs in his hometown, San Diego, falling in love with the art of sharing music. Seeking independence, he moved to Los Angeles where he was self-employed throughout college: computer engineer by day, DJ-for-hire by night. A sojourn to Burning Man: Rites of Passage in 2011 is where his first exposure to the warm inclusivity and thriving community of the international house scene sparked what drives the evolution of his musical style today. He continues to bring his unique style to life through his love for old school influences and rhythmic afro house.
