dwangoAC

I am dwangoAC, keeper of TASBot as seen at Games Done Quick and other charity events - TASBot plays video games perfectly on real consoles. I am on staff at TASVideos.org as Senior Ambassador and often work as a security consultant by day. See https://TAS.Bot and https://Discord.GG/TASBot for more!

TL;DR

**dwangoAC and [TASBot](https://TAS.Bot) are here!** **Schedule: M-F ~9:30 AM Pacific start, check [Discord.gg/TASBot](https://Discord.gg/TASBot)** **Keep chat PG, allow tech talk** **Music: Yes, 16-bit 32kHz stereo through an SNES**

This channel is focused on **Tool-Assisted Speedruns playing back on real hardware** using various replay devices **held by our friendly game-smashing robot overlord, [TASBot](http://TAS.bot)**, with various emulators also employed at times. TASBot's keeper, dwangoAC, is often hacking various things at the same time. This is a busy stream with a lot on screen, from all music being played through a real Super Nintendo to friendly chat community interaction to breaking things (intentionally or otherwise). The chat and stream content stays clean but can get technical so don't hesitate to ask questions about what's happening - this is a learning experience for literally everyone involved. TASBot Mania (inspired by TMR's NESMania) is an intermittent project to attempt console verifications of all non-vault TAS's on verifiable platforms, currently more focused on SNES runs. Subscribers gain access to a number of features including a private Minecraft server, private Factorio server, private Discord channel access, sweet emotes and other perks with 10% of all donations currently going to charity (see the Charitable Giving panel below). The best place to connect is on the [official TASBot Discord server](https://discord.gg/tasbot) This channel has an abnormally amazing chat community for Twitch and is a joy to be involved in so stick around, turn on notifications if I've earned them, and enjoy!

Starting September 2023 while I'm currently unemployed, I'm now streaming every weekday starting at roughly 9:30 AM Pacific but I may need to skip some streams so consider joining the [official TASBot Discord server](https://discord.gg/tasbot) for the latest on streaming events. Thanks!

What (or who) is TASBot?

Panel Content
To define TASBot is a complicated task. What started off as a modified R.O.B. unit outfitted with Legos and a circuit board has evolved into a new body supported by an ever-expanding community. With various interests ranging from Tool-Assisted Speedruns and software development to supporting each other during troubling times and crisis, the TASBot community has become a living enigma. At its core, TASBot was founded under the idea of creating hardware to exactly mimic the behavior of video game controllers and allow playback of pre-recorded inputs on physical hardware for a live Games Done Quick charity livestream audience - usually with game-breaking glitches or other super-human abilities - with incredible results. This method of playing inputs, called Tool-Assisted Speedruns (TAS for short), is called "Console Verification." TASBot was born on 2013-12-22 and is currently hosted by his creator and keeper, dwangoAC. TASBot has made appearances at more than a dozen GDQ events since 2014 (although the earliest TAS involvement at a GDQ event was organized by DarkKobold during SGDQ 2011). TASBot has also been part of many other events including Thotcon, GeekPwn, MAGFest, Calithon, RPG Limit Break, and European Speedrunner Assembly.

- Keep it PG - Allow tech talk to happen - Help others This channel has an amazing reputation for being one of the best Twitch communities on the site. Here's how it stays that way: This is a friendly (albeit technical) chat with a high degree of interactivity. For the most part, please keep it PG in here. My kids often look over my shoulder, so if you wouldn't say it in front of the child in your life think twice before you say it here especially if there's obviously a kid on stream. The often technical nature of this stream means this channel tends to have a very different feel than most others. Don't call people nerds for being passionate about tech, have some grace if the conversation heads off on a tangent, and above all don't be afraid to jump in and ask questions. To expand on that last point, there are no dumb questions here, everyone has to start learning somewhere. I'll do my best to answer technical questions where I can and I encourage others to fill in what I don't know (there's plenty I still don't know, believe me). Finally, have fun and be entertained; that's probably why you came here. :)

I am on staff at [TASVideos.org community](http://tasvideos.org) as Senior Ambassador as well as an active player and promoter of Tool-Assisted Speedruns. I’ve created several runs of my own over the years which are listed on my [TASVideos.org homepage](http://tasvideos.org/DwangoAC.html).
Panel Content
I've organized efforts to represent the TASVideos community during Games Done Quick charity marathons starting with AGDQ 2014 (although DarkKobold represented the TAS community during SGDQ 2011). Games Done Quick has helped raise money for several different charities, most recently the [Prevent Cancer Foundation](http://preventcancer.org) and [Doctors Without Borders](http://doctorswithoutborders.org). There are TASVideos focused [wiki entries](http://tasvideos.org/GamesDoneQuick.html) that chronicle some of the past antics but one of my favorite resources is the [GDQVods TAS page](http://gdqvods.com/category/tool-assisted-speedruns/). Thanks to TiKevin83 we also have [Runs.TAS.Bot](https://Runs.TAS.Bot) which lists all console verified content so far.

10% of Twitch revenue is currently donated to charity!

Panel Content
All Twitch bits and subs revenue I receive currently goes to help me be able to attend GDQ, ESA, and other charity events and cover equipment costs but you have my word that at least 10% will always go directly to charity. [For AGDQ 2018 I donated 7 times more than my lifetime Twitch revenue](https://gamesdonequick.com/tracker/donation/433707) and earlier events were similar. If you would like to donate to my equipment fund to keep TASBot entertained, please support me at [Patreon.com/dwangoAC](https://Patreon.com/dwangoAC) and know you have my sincere appreciation! My equipment needs are extreme compared to other streamers and I have travel expenses for GDQ, ESA, and other events I also need to offset so I greatly appreciate the help.

[@MrTASBot](https://twitter.com/MrTASBot) speaks in simple sentences and occasionally spreads news of new glitches and exploits. He is most active around GDQ events and he usually only posts when TASBot activities or fun stream aspects are about to happen here.

My YouTube channel activity now far exceeds my Twitch activity due to the level of traction I've had there. My channel contains highlights and past presentations that have been recorded largely here on Twitch as well as various TAS projects such as the [NetHack TAS WIP](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWgmkQdA1fc) made by ais523 and myself. Thanks to help from AngelWind, Pepman, and an ever expanding team I'm now adding content to YouTube on a regular basis. Please turn on notifications if I've earned them.

TASBot is made possible by some really talented contributors. Some people have put in an exceptionally large amount of time and have contributed to many events in the past. The list here was so long it practically broke Twitch so I've removed the individual names but swing by Discord.TAS.Bot to see all past contributors - thanks for the help!
