You sound sick.** - No, I just woke up. **Did you miss me?** - Yes. **For how long will you be streaming?** - I will be streaming until I go offline. **For how long will you be offlline?** - I will be offline until I start streaming. **Do you have school tomorrow?** - Yes. **How was school?** - School was boring. **How's it going?** - It's going alright. **How's the run going?** - I hate this run, this run sucks. **Why do I hear a piano?** - Because I'm playing the piano. **Where are you from?** - I'm from Sweden, Småland. **How long have you been speedrunning?** - I started speedrunning in 2008 with Super Mario 64, I started speedrunning Majora's Mask in June 2012. **What controller do you use?** - I use a Gamecube Controller. **What's your headset?** - I use a Plantronics Gamecom 780 headset. **Why Majora's Mask?** - Because it's a childhood game of mine, and I really like the story, all the sidequesting, and the time system adds a depth to the game which makes speedrunning it more interesting and challenging. My favourite Nintendo 64 game. **What is the World Record?** - [Majora's Mask Leaderboards](https://www.speedrun.com/mm) **Why do you keep pausing?** - This trick is called [pause buffering](http://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/oot/tech/pause-buffering). By pausing and unpausing the game, we can advance 1 frame at a time. This makes doing frame perfect tricks significantly easier. This can also be used to skip cutscenes. At the beginning of the game, there is a cutscene where the happy mask salesman talks to deku link, which is about 50 seconds long. However, by pausing and unpausing, we can completely skip that cutscene. This is since the game needs 2 frames to activate a cutscene. However, by advancing the game 1 frame at a time, the cutscene can never load. Another instance where this can be used to skip a cutscene is for opening woodfall temple, learning new wave bossa nova, and the Turtle cutscene (KevinTurtle). **How do you float in the air?** - That glitch is called [hovering](http://zeldaspeedruns.com/mm/tech/hovering). It starts by activating [infinite sword glitch](http://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/mm/tech/infinite-sword-glitch). This is done by stabbing your sword and interrupting its stab on the last frame by reading something, grabbing a bomb, etc. Now that your sword is stabbing infinitely, Link cannot fall off a ledge. This is used in skipping the Goron Lullaby. However, there is a second effect of this glitch. When your shield takes some sort of damage while in the air, whether by an explosion or enemy attack, link will stay in the air. Therefore, by backflipping and shieldropping a bombchu at the same time, Link will float in the air. **How did you go from Woodfall to Snowhead?** - All of the fairy fountains are on the same map. By hovering from one fountain to another, you effectively warped across the map. This is called [Fairy Fountain Wrong Warp](http://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/mm/msb/alternate-exit-formerly-known-as-wrong-warp), and is used to get to Ikana early. It's also used to get to Snowhead in Any%. **How are you keeping your Gold Dust after you sell it?** - This is called [bottle duplication](http://zeldaspeedruns.com/mm/tech/bottle-duplication). After you sell an item, you have 2 frames to swipe another bottle. By doing so, the game writes a bottle over top of your already existing bottle. When this happens, the gold dust does not go away. Thus, we can sell the gold dust infinitely. **Why do you need so many rupees?** - Once you deposit 5,000 rupees into the bank, you receive a heart piece. **What do you need to collect for 100%?** - The definition of 100% is anything that does not go away when you play the Song of Time. This includes hearts, masks, dungeon maps and compasses (not boss keys or small keys), overworld maps, items, songs, bomber's notebook completion, item upgrades, fairy rewards, owl statues and game completion. **What are the differences between Japanese and English versions?** - The Japanese version has slightly faster text, which saves about 20-30 seconds in Any%. Upon that, the swimming controls are different, Power crouch stab works only in japanese, and the guards in Pirates Fortress have worse vision during night in japanese, which allows a faster route for Any%. For more details, visit [this pastebin](http://www.pastebin.com/XNheJ74P). **Why are you playing on the Japanese version for 100% now?** - I used to play 100% on English version, but there is much reason to believe that Japanese version is faster. For the dog race and keaton quiz, I have simply memorized the text, despite having no Japanese skills. The only real problem with Japanese version is the Postman heart piece. In order to collect this heart piece, a timer must be stopped at exactly 10.00 seconds. In the English version, the window for this is 6 input frames (0.100 seconds). In the Japanese version, the window for this is 1 input frame (0.017 seconds). This is a huge difference that makes Japanese version much harder. **How did you walk off the switch at stone tower temple without the block moving away?** - That glitch is called time stop. When you have your bottle in your hand, then hit R to shield, then quickly press the button to use the bottle, time stops moving. This prevents cutscenes from triggering, such as the cutscene for the block moving back.
