FAQ

**What does 100% in Chrono Trigger mean?** 100% means clearing all the sidequests that Gaspar (the guru at the End of Time) gives you near the end of the game. This includes the following: -Hero's Grave -Sun Stone -Giant's Claw -Geno Dome -Sunken Desert -Yakra XIII -Revive Crono -Ozzie's Fort -Black Omen **What are the differences between the US and Japanese versions of FFVI?** Besides having faster text, the Japanese version also has an equipment glitch, which allows you to equip any item in your inventory. For example, equipping an Autocrossbow maxes out your magic defense and gives really high physical defense, and equipping a Drill maxes out both physical and magic defense. This glitch can also be used to equip multiples of the same item; equipping multiple Magus Helms boosts magic power quite a bit. **How does the equipment glitch work?** I'll use an example: Say you want to equip an Autocrossbow as a helmet on Terra. First, get rid of all helmets that are equippable by Terra, either by selling them or equipping them on other people. Next, move the Autocrossbow down to the very last spot in your inventory. Then go into the Equip menu for Terra and choose optimum, and she will equip the Autocrossbow in the helmet slot. **Can you read Japanese?** I took Japanese for a year in college, so I can read hiragana and katakana, although I didn't learn much kanji. Basically, when running FFVI in Japanese, I can read names of items, spells, and equipment, but not text or dialogue. **How do you keep getting 7-7-7 for Joker Doom?** Using an Echo Screen at the beginning of a battle sets up the RNG (random number generator) to allow you to get 7-7-7. You can also check out my [Slots Tutorial](http://www.twitch.tv/essentiafour/c/2540931) for more info. **What's a Reverse Joker Doom, and how does it work?** There are a few battles in FFVI that don't allow you to get 7-7-7, no matter what. However, 7-7-Bar is always allowed. Normally 7-7-Bar casts Joker Doom on y our own party, even if Setzer is Muddled, but if you Muddle and then un-Muddle him, the targeting for Joker Doom will switch to the enemy party. See my [Slots Tutorial](http://www.twitch.tv/essentiafour/c/2540931) for more info. **What's the world record for FFVI?** US (NTSC) version: 4:56:03 by LCC Japanese version: 4:32:05 by Hotarubi **Can I look at your run notes for FFVI?** I've posted my run notes for both any% and 100% (all characters and espers) routes on the SDA forums. You can download them [here](https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/final_fantasy_vi__new_record_436_48.html#final_fantasy_vi__new_record_436_48). **Is that a baby I hear in the background?** Yes. :)
