I'm a former active duty Marine from East Harlem New York now living in the nations' capital. I Got the chess bug late in life but I have always secretively wanted to dive into the world of chess. Once I learned the basic moves I was immediately introduced to the madness and I totally became intimidated. There was so much to chess but I did not know where to start. A co-worker asked me to checkout some streams in particular one with a crazy Korean that had old school humor lol My Teacher Sam! BOOOM! He made learning more about chess very realistic for me because he asked the same questions, "Is this a move?". His stream allowed me to be me while learning, blundering and mating all the way through the madness! Then I was asked "Why don't you stream?". I instantly said in my mind and in my despicable me voice, "Light Bulb!" So here we are! Welcome and don't be afraid chill out, we are learning this thing together! HK OUT! Peace!!

Why the long games? I’m a true believer that you learn more from playing longer time controls. This is especially the case with novice players like me. Why only unrated Challenges? You may or may not know that playing chess while streaming is extremely difficult. I’m practically guaranteed to lose in fact I lose 99% of my games on stream. No fun!
