**What console/controller are you speedrunning on?** Both controller and console are Nintendo 64. My controller has a [steelstick](http://steelsticks64.com/). **How long have you been speedrunning SM64?** I played a bit of 16/70 Star in 2014. I started running 120 in January 2016. **How did you learn to speedrun?** From an outdated guide. [Ukikipedia](https://ukikipedia.net/wiki/Main_Page) is the best source to learn routes and movement at all levels of skill. I highly recommend using [Usamune rom](https://sites.google.com/view/supermario64/usamunepj/usamunerom?authuser=0) to practice the game efficiently. **Why do you play the Japanese version?** For every category (except 70 star) JP is faster. The game runs the same but theres a few minor differences: -the speed of the textboxes vary -a couple stars are placed slightly differently (one in JRB & CCM) -on JP version you can clip through a couple doors in BBH to save time. **What is RNG?** Random Number Generator aka luck. In SM64 the coins fly in random directions/magnitudes and enemies/amps can spawn in different locations. **What do those abbreviations on your timer mean?** [They are the names of each stage.](http://i.imgur.com/GjQHpcl.png) **Why are you choosing the bottom option at the save screen?** The console takes ~10 frames to save and we can choose (Don't Save and Continue) to bypass the lag. **What is a firstie?** Wallkicking on the first possible frame sends you further than a normal wallkick which can be good or bad depending on the situation.
