Welcome! "Heroes" for Hire is a drop-in homebrew Dungeons and Dragons campaign that was created for the purpose of allowing streamers with hectic schedules the chance to partake in a D&D session whenever it best suits them! Every two weeks we have a session, depending on DM and player availability. Each session is a one-shot, so players don't feel as if they've missed out on important plot details if their personal lives keep them from joining in. DMs and players/characters will rotate, which will create a unique session each time.
Panel Content
Chat interaction will be difficult during the session, especially since we will strive for as much immersiveness and roleplay as possible. We appreciate all comments and will try to answer questions if possible, but please feel free to refer to our plot, characters, or command panels to learn more when we aren't able to explain~! Please, no backseat gaming or malicious comments. This is homebrew content created for fun, and some traditional rules may be bent to the DM's discretion. Racist, homophobic, sexist, or anything considered bigoted will not be tolerated.

The Kingdom of Desia has seen yet another shift in power; Mazor, the previous monarch, ruled too heavily with his iron fist - and civil disrest lead to the long-anticipated usurpation of the throne. Althaea, a renowned sorcerer from the capital’s Amethyst district, was highly favored amongst nobles and layfolk alike; and after defeating Mazor, her reign was welcomed. As time went on, the novelty of Althaea’s rule began to wear off, and many citizens have begun to criticize the half-elf’s ability to rule, citing her young age and lack of any significant progress since taking the throne. Citizens of Desia began reporting more crime within city walls; and the disappearances of noble figures and common folk alike have only put more pressure on the Crown. Soon, people began to blame others for the transgressions, and distrust seeped through every District. Even Desia’s allies are starting to become wary of her ability to aid them in the event of war. With rumors that the Mawth Empire has destroyed the armies of many already, the Kingdoms of Norin and Haldor are becoming restless. They need Desia’s support more than ever, and require proof of support immediately. The sorcerer queen has made several important decrees; one of which describes jobs boards erected around the city which any are welcome to complete for considerable amounts of coin. These boards are where many travelers and citizens alike find themselves surrounding lately. When the rewards are of gold and good reputation with the Queen, it's not difficult to see why all are drawn to the different tasks available. The future of Desia is uncertain. Some think she is crumbling from the inside, and expect to be invaded any moment from their opportunist neighbors; others hold out hope that the Queen will lead them to an era of prosperity. What is for certain, however, is that the changes Desia has seen in its recent history are far from over.
