ipaintbirbs
hey y'all I'm Liz (she/they), a painter of birbs and professional dingus bringing you birbs, art, and chats from Nashville :)
Hey y'all, I'm Liz! I’m an artist, educator, and scientific illustrator born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. As far back as I can remember I have loved two things most of all, art and nature. I combined my two passions and became a Natural Science Illustrator with a particular affinity for birds.
My hope is that my art will inspire others to connect with nature just as I have through my paintings. Pop by the stream, say howdy, do some birding with me at my feeder, and let's talk about birds!
I use a variety of supplies for my work, here is a short list!
- Brush: Pentel Aquash Water Brush, or an assortment of traditional brushes.
- Paint: Schmincke Pan Watercolors or Holbein Gouache Tubes.
- Paper: Pastelmat Pastel paper for gouache, Saunders Waterford Hot Press Watercolor Block for watercolor.
- Sketchbook: Stillman and Birn Nova Series Tricolor Sketchbook.
- Pens: Sakura Pigma Sensei and Micron.
- Blocks: DaVinci Pro Panels: ultra-smooth gesso panels.
