1990 Nintendo World Championships NJ Winner & National Finalist

Panel Content
In 1990, Nintendo held its first-ever tournament. Many consider it the birth of eSports. The competition consisted of 3 games played out in 6 minutes and 21 seconds: Super Mario Brothers (collect 50 coins), Rad Racer (complete 1 lap), and finally, Tetris (play the remaining time scoring as high as possible). I competed in my home state of NJ and won, receiving an all-expenses-paid trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA to play in the Finals where I would rank among the top 90 players in the world (30 in my specific age group, 12-17). There were 3 winners from each of 30 cities who got to make the finals (90 in all). We were grouped in age categories: 11 & under, 12-17 (my group I won in) and 18 & over. In my state of NJ, pictured above, Jared Cohen (center) won 11 & under and Mike Iarossi (left, & who coincidentally WON the 1994 NWC Finals) won the 18 & over group. The main photo far above for my channel's background image is a photo of me on stage in NJ (standing with my hands on my hips) at station 7 hoping I made top 2, which obviously I did :) Great memories! *****________________________________________*****

Pioneers of eSports Interview!

Panel Content
I sat down with Chris Bidwell and Dorion Whitlock in June 2019 via Skype for their "Pioneers of eSports" YouTube video podcast. We shared conversation and laughs for over 2 hours as I strolled down memory lane recanting stories of my childhood, video games, the 1990 and 94 NWC, my time away from the gaming scene and my recent return to playing Tetris and the CTWC! (Click the image above to be taken to the YouTube video!) *****________________________________________*****

1994 Nintendo World Championships PA Winner & National Finalist

Panel Content
In 1994, Nintendo held another national tournament. The competition once again consisted of 3 games played out in 6 minutes: Super Mario Brothers The Lost Levels (finish 1st level), Super Mario Kart (complete 1st track of 5 laps), and finally, Ken Griffey HR Derby (play the remaining time hitting as many HRs as possible). I competed in my home state of NJ, but lost. I traveled to East Stroudsburg, PA with friends and I won there. Little did I know at the time that I joined a very exclusive club: becoming 1 of only 3 players ever to be a finalist in both the 1990 and 1994 NWC competitions. Same as in '90, I again received an all-expenses-paid trip to California (this time San Diego) to play in the Finals where I would rank among the top 132 players in the world. (photo above is a pic taken at the San Diego Zoo of my team in the Finals "Tornadoes" I'm standing back row 2nd from far right) *****________________________________________*****

Tetris Personal Best/Goals

Panel Content
I started playing NES Tetris the year it came out way back in 1989. In 1992 I had achieved a high score of 825k. When I got back into the game in 2018 I made it a mission to match or beat the score. On Friday, August 9th, 2019, almost a year to the date of setting this goal, I did it -- MAX OUT! This is a WR for oldest person to maxout first time: 43 years, 4 months and 3 days *****________________________________________*****
