Hey Friends! I'm based out of Nashville and used to do the music touring thing full-time before the pandemic hit. Now I've found my way to Twitch and have been loving it!!! The community here has been really good to me. So thanks to you! :) I love covers - it's a chance for me to put my own belt-y/gravelly/beat my guitar spin on songs you know and love. But I also love doing originals because, well, I think about things more than I should (maybe, haha) and my music is the best way I know to bring that world to you. Really, I just love people. Music is my way to find a meeting ground for us to have a good time and get to be friends. Oh, I've just started working for the Braver Angels Songwriters Community (so so excited!). They are an international organization committed to using music to help create open discussion amongst the big ideologies out there. Basically, they want to fix your FB page and help people get along (ok, so it is a little more complicated than that) . I strongly believe music can help that out, and I'm one of the committee members charged with building that community. I've been recording music in my home studio and releasing a single a month (see SubPerks section) unifying the project under the kites theme. For me, the kites spoke creativity, fun, connectedness, and some whimsy. Also, growing up, there was a lady in our neighborhood who "adopted" me and my sister as her local grandkids. On Saturdays we'd go over to her house and help her wash her car, gardening, etc (don't worry ya'll she paid us overly generously). She'd talk a lot to us about life and would ask us about the "big" questions while we worked- lots of teaching. Then in the afternoons if it was windy enough, she'd take us out to fly kites. She loved stunt kites and had some big enough that I would actually have to hold her down while flying because they would lift her feet off the ground. We both would get dragged across the field. To this day I still carry around a stunt kite in the trunk of my car for those moments when the wind is right (:
