Rain Delay Games
I've decided to take a little time off of work and pursue a solo video game project under the umbrella of what I'm calling [Rain Delay Games](https://www.raindelaygames.com/).
I'm making a side-scrolling action platformer whose health and projectile systems are heavily informed by the game of baseball. You're heavily encouraged to play the [prototype](https://www.raindelaygames.com/ensue/prototype) and read the [devlog](https://www.raindelaygames.com/devlog) I'm writing for it.
If you'd like to keep tabs on the project, give [@raindelaygames](https://twitter.com/raindelaygames) a follow over on Twitter and/or join up on my [Discord server](https://discord.gg/bxmn5Fp), where I always post the latest screenshots and GIFs of what I'm working on.
About Me
I live in Seattle and I work as a software engineer. I talk about sports and beer a lot. I grew up in Texas, though I don't have much of an accent. I used to be a soccer goalie but I've retired to focus on running. I recently ran my first full marathon and am definitely interested in doing more.
If I'm doing speedruns*, I don't reset very often. I strive for as little downtime as possible when I stream and I typically consider practice to be downtime. I celebrate a new PB (personal best) with a PB (personal beverage).
\* Haven't done speedruns in a while.

Manifesto
1. Resets are boring.
2. Nobody likes a negative attitude.
3. Shut up and play.
4. Pay attention to chat.
5. Don't mute the game.
If Twitter is your preferred way to know when a streamer is going live and you don't mind a daily--potentially funny!--update on the Houston Astros during baseball season, follow me over there: [@jpnance](http://twitter.com/jpnance).
Software
**[wwwsplit](http://jpnance.github.io/wwwsplit/)**
A browser-based timer that I use on my stream. It has only a basic set of timer controls (start, stop, split, unsplit, skip, and reset) and has only been tested on Firefox. If you'd like to try and use it for yourself, though, [PM me](http://www.twitch.tv/message/compose?to=jpnance) and I'll be happy to help you get set up. You can view and contribute to its source code on [its GitHub page](https://github.com/jpnance/wwwsplit). I plan to rename it as soon as I think of a not-lousy name.
