# Your [donation](https://streamelements.com/justjtan/tip) is greatly appreciated! While I just stream for fun, every dollar helps as this does serve as one of the few ways I can provide any source of income to my family. You should never feel expected or compelled to donate anything here. The primary goal is to just have fun. If you are feeling generous and that makes you feel happy, I can assure you it will make me feel happy too. All donations are final and non-refundable. Thank you!

I'm one of just a few handful of people that suffer from a rare neurological disorder called Kleine-Levin Syndrome (KLS), sometimes referred to as "Sleeping Beauty Syndrome." KLS affects me in episodes. When I'm not in an episode, I'm completely 100% normal... when I am in an episode... I sleep for 16-20+ hours per day, am pretty out of it when and often confused when I am conscious, and am not really able to take care of myself. There are additional symptoms associated with KLS, like hyperphagia (extreme hunger) and hypersexuality. These episodes usually last for 3-5 months at a time, though I've had two that lasted about a year. This is why I am unable to follow any kind of streaming schedule. I like the idea of streaming when I'm in an episode during my most lucid hours, but there is no telling when that will be. I also like the idea of streaming and sharing my life when I'm not at my best. I am a complete open book about my disability, and encourage you to ask any questions if you have them. KLS typically goes away on its own eventually. Based on how old I was when I had my first episode in 2010, the best guess is that I'll have it 15-20+ years. In February of 2018 I did an AMA on reddit about KLS. You can find that here: [Reddit AMA](https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/7yrqwm/iama_31m_with_kleinelevin_syndrome_kls_aka/) In June of 2020, a reporter reached out to cover the story of one of my good friends at the time (a fellow KLSer) and myself as we bonded over our mutual struggles. You can read that story here: [UK Article](https://metro.co.uk/2020/06/03/best-friends-who-have-never-met-bond-rare-sleeping-beauty-syndrome-12797553/)

# Next Game The Hero Call is RETURNING in 2023! # HIstory The Hero Call came to fruition after "the guys" were asking me about my Twitch setup during a poker night. It was a simple question of "well why don't we stream this?" It took a few months of preparation, a healthy investment, and an absurd amount of setup... but we got there. The first ever stream of The Hero Call was Friday, June 7th, 2019. The stakes are micro, but the fun will be massive. # Commands **!pokerinfo** - Learn more about the game **!pokersplash** - Find out how to splash the next pot and donate to all our players **!LPP** - Easy access to the LearnProPoker affiliate link # The Hero Call Standings We will be keeping track of all our players' profits and losses over the lifetime of The Hero Call. [Rank. Name | +/-$Profit (Games Played)] **2019 Final Standings:** 1. David H. | +$155 (8) 2. Steve M. | +$135 (8) 3. Chris B. | +$107 (3) Single Biggest Win: Matt K. +$137 (Dec 20, 2019) Single Biggest Loss: Addison -$100 (July 5, 2019) # LearnProPoker.com Many of the players that form the core group of The Hero Call started playing poker together in Fall of 2008 at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. One friend who always played with us was Ryan Laplante (Protential). Ryan has been thriving as a professional poker player and coach for much of the last decade after deciding that beating up on fellow college kids was too EZPZ for him. Recently, his last project is launching his own poker training website: [https://go.learnpropoker.com/Hero](https://go.learnpropoker.com/Hero) He has 13 WSOP FTs and one bracelet in his young career. It's weird to think that one of my best friends that I played poker with for pennies and nickels with in college is one of the best poker players in the world -- but he is. Most GOOD training sites that offer video content similar to what LearnProPoker is putting out charge $700-$1300 up front. You get a lifetime membership but they rarely update their database. This puts quite the paywall behind some useful and important content. Ryan's site is different and is going with a subscription based model. It is $40/month and constantly updating its content database with new videos and changing old ones to adhere to the new GTO (meta) status of the game. Additionally, if you use The Hero Call's fancy affiliate link: [https://go.learnpropoker.com/Hero](https://go.learnpropoker.com/Hero) you will be supporting the stream. Thank you!
