As the last in a line of 10 in my family, I often felt overlooked. My life's choices were made for me. And my opinions weren't worth being listened to. This was my life for decades, I had no voice, no choices and no confidence. When I was in Jr High, I got mugged walking down the street. Fortunately for me, I had access to a martial arts group. I joined the group, out of anger and out of the desire for revenge. I eventually learned what I thought was enough to fight back and get even. If I had went through with my attempt to confront my attackers, I surely would've either gotten beaten badly or worse. In the end I learned how to defend myself, defend others, I gained something I didn't feel like I had before....confidence. In the time since, I performed many martial arts demonstrations and Chinese lion dancing. I completed culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu and have spent 14 years in the industry that I love. And one day, as I was thinking about my career I came to realize that I wanted to pass on my skills. In the same way I helped train new martial artists, I wanted to guide more people in the culinary arts. I started a Youtube channel, moved over to Twitch and now here I am literally standing before you. My goal is and always will be to pass on my passion, skills, and knowledge onto those who I am fortunate enough to have join us here. You don't have to pay to go to a culinary school, you can hang out with us and our AMAZING community, the Cilantro Squad, and build YOUR Kitchen Confidence. I know it can be scary to learn new things, you may be hesitant or afraid. I know how that feels, I know what it's like and I can tell you that it won't always feel that way. With Kitchen Confidence, you'll learn the fundamental cooking skills that make up every dish ever created.
