As someone who comes from a long line of Emergency Personnel, has worked it herself, and has also lost someone very dear to her due many of these things, this campaign is very personal to me. Anyone who has ever worked a day in Emergency Services knows what it means to call a code. When we have to call them, it always rips us apart, even if the outcome is favorable, and for many the result of repeated calls and codes is deep emotional pain and trauma that leads to Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and, WAY too often, Suicide. The Code Green Campaign is our way of fighting back. It's time we start acknowledging the pain our everyday heroes face and stand up for them.
