My name is Peter and the most important thing to know about me is that I am a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ and a bible believing evangelist. But I wasn't always this way. This is my testimony of how Jesus saved me from my slavery to sin and the wrath I earned after 40 years of rebellion against God. As a young boy, my father did many terribly evil things, culminating in his conviction for the brutal murder of one of the many women he had seduced. My mother was a raging alcoholic, my brother entered the LGBTQ+ community and later died from a meth overdose, and my sister is still recovering from years of pain. As a teenager, I was mentored by a man who darkened my understanding. He taught me a twisted view of the world without God. Because of the hardness of my heart I became very callous and for 40 years gave myself over to promiscuity and the practicing of every kind of impurity with a desire for more and more. But God intervened in my life and tore apart my worldly empire, showing me the futility of my life. In my confusion God used my mentor, who advised me to read through the entire bible, knowing full well that I would give up and conclude, as he did, the futility of the scriptures. But after 3 years, my wife and I read the entire bible, and through His Word, realized the truth about Jesus Christ. Through the grace and mercy of God and the finished work of Jesus on the Cross, He took me from filth to faith. In Christ I am a new creation, created according to my heavenly Father’s will and given the righteousness and purity of His Son, the Way, the Truth and the Life. I now serve at His good pleasure as a Christian Evangelist sharing His good news through innovative use of online streaming, gaming and virtual reality technologies. Soli Deo Gloria! Well tonight, as you know if you were here this morning, I'm going to begin a new series that I've been sort of working on for a long time, a series on origins. And I don't know how long this series is going to run exactly. I do know that I'm going to spend a little time on an introduction and then we're going to launch right into Genesis 1:1 and take the whole account of creation verse by verse, phrase by phrase and let the Lord unfold its significance to us.
