Montreal in itself is a special region, being in the only french province in Canada means a diverse range of cultures and personalities, this carries over into the FGC, specifically our FGC, MTLSF. MTLSF has been around since the early days of Street Fighter, relatively small tournaments ran at arcades which then evolved to basements of churches to monthly events eventually to big venue major tournaments involving international players. Montreal has always had a "special" attitude, always competitive, certain rivalries from sports carried over into the FGC, Montreal vs Toronto for example have had a rivalry since both cities began playing Street fighter. Each city will always claim that they are indeed the best in Canada however players from Montreal have proven it time after time that we are the leading force in skill and competitiveness and have our own unique attitude which entails smack talking in both official languages and grabbing some drinks with our foes afterwards.. One particular saying that is quintessentially from Montreal and specifically from MTLSF and is in fact our motto, is "Talk Pas Sh*t" which essentially means "No Excuses". Players from all over enjoy coming to Montreal not only for the competition but for the fact that Montreal has an amazing nightlife in which players can enjoy when not competing. Montreal is a smaller more united city and as such have truly become a family, even with those from Toronto and other cities, despite our rivalries, some of their players are our closest of friends.
