Nitebytes

Hi, I'm a British variety streamer and TBI survivor. My bias is mostly to music streams as a Drummer, but I also stream games, usually with my youngest, and they could be any kind of game that my youngest fancy playing. We're welcoming and inclusive, stop by and say hi :) business@nitebytes.co.uk

In August 2017 I received a Traumatic Brain Injury as a result of a motorcycle accident. This has affected things in my every day life. In terms of the stream, you guys get to see forgetfulness, and a form of expressive dysphasia that means I sometimes lose words or use completely the wrong word. I've also lost levels of fine motor coordination, which affects FPS games and drumming. My balance is off, I'm crazy forgetful, and I get fatigued very quickly. All this makes gaming and drumming a challenge. Please bear with me when this happens, and keep it in mind when requesting songs on drum streams. If you want to read more about what it all means I wrong a blog post about it, the link to which is under the TBI graphic. Who am I? I’m arguably middle-aged. Arguably because there's no clear agreement of what that actually means: depending on which definition you look at; the US Census lists it as 35-54, while Oxford English dictionary lists it as ”The period of life between young adulthood and old age, now usually regarded as between about forty-five and sixty.” Psychologists say it’s from around 40 to 65. Now, where was I - ah yes, middle-aged, parent, office worker, Voice Over Artist, geek, drummer and gamer, and quite possibly technophile. I'm not a professional drummer or drum tutor, but I have been drumming for over 30 years. You'll also see me sat behind a drum kit, playing along to songs you folks request! So pull up a seat, crack open a drink, and relax.. Business Enquiries: enquiries@nitebytes.co.uk

I am happy to that I am an affiliate with Loop Ear Plugs. I use my Loops to protect my hearing in loud crowds and gigs, and to help prevent getting overwhelmed by audio overstimulation. I've also worn them at work when attending 'all hands' meetings to help me focus on the main speaker rather than the murming of the crowd of staff.
