Welcome to Iors (yôrs)! The Continent of Iors is divided into four distinct ruling Clans, each with their own vibrant culture, values, and champions. GUARDIAN’S EDGE (northwest) - known for their fine craftsmanship and luxurious pelts, the Guardian’s Edge pride themselves on their resourcefulness. Having nearly come to ruin after aggressive expansion forced their Clan to reckon with a terrible evil from within, the Guardians now devote themselves entirely to reversing the damage their King had caused and stopping the Cataclysm, once and for all. DREAMER CLAN (west) - having gotten rich war profiteering on the back of the conflict between the Fire Clan and Guardian’s Edge over sixty years ago, the average citizen of the Dreamer Clan now enjoys a standard of living at once more comfortable and more oblivious than the rest of the Continent. Though their arcana-dependent society took a hit after the conflict that made them rich cut off the Continent of Iors from its connection to the Arcane, the Dreamer Clan has bounced back in full force. In the intervening years they have discovered electricity, struck several profitable trade deals with the Guardians, and began construction on a major railway system to the Guardian’s Edge subcontinent. FIRE UNDERGROUND (east) - not much is known about the Fire Underground. Their lands are filled with a mysterious flame borne only by Sprites, powerful shapeshifters granted incredible abilities by their connection to the Spectral Web. What IS known are two things: one, that the reclusive Clan is the only Clan in a position to preserve what is left of the traditions passed down by the original Fire Clan, which was devastated by their terrible conflict with the Guardian’s Edge - who were at that time known as the Bleeding Edge. The only other thing known about the Fire Underground is this: the only thing to ever survive direct contact with them on their lands, are Fire Clan refugees trickling in from the diaspora. Everything else burns. MONK CLAN (eastern isles) - far beyond the Sunken Desert, across the Narrow Sea, lies a cluster of islands once protected by a magic which erased the memories of all who escaped it. Now, that arcane protection has run out as the land’s connection to the arcane was erased during the Bleeding King’s final assault. Now, as the Continent of Iors sinks into its final Cataclysm in this 30th year of the final loss of arcana, some among this idyllic island nation of scholars and scientists have grown desperate, venturing out into the world to join forces with their mortal enemies the Guardian’s Edge in hopes of saving the world. But their experiments may not be the salvation they expect...

‘SKILL CHECK!’ is the hip-hop RPG where you gotta FREESTYLE RAP to SURVIVE! Instead of rolling dice for percentages and attack as in traditional RPGs, our players roll to determine the Freestyle Challenge they will face. The DM then judges their Freestyle according to MC-DC: Musicality! Clarity! Delivery! And Cleverness! This ‘SKILL CHECK’ then determines the outcome of their attack or attempted action.
