Hi there! And, welcome to my Twitch channel. I'm Derek, and I got trapped in these city streets long ago. Since then, I've wandered, playing chess games and doing my best to avoid the substances. Gather round the fire barrel, let's keep warm together. I love music (I'm a drummer), metal detecting, poker, photography, playing pool, anything automotive, camping, karaoke (I'm terrible!), and I'm also a closet geek and love gadgets. My classical/slow rating on Lichess is somewhere in the 2000-2100 range, so I'm no master. But I know the basics and I know them well, and I do my absolute best to explain everything as I play so beginners can pick the game up quickly.
