Neuroscience research software programmer and physicist. (He/Him)

Stream Ethos

It is important to me to mitigate/eliminate things from this stream which I find psychologically manipulative or otherwise ethically problematic. This is why I will not play games with lootbox gambling mechanics, I have disabled Hype trains, hidden the gift sub/cheer leaderboard, and I try not to tie any form of stream engagement strictly to money (such as my TTS for the masses). If you would like to support this stream, and have the means to do so, I really am very grateful. It's just important to me to eliminate as many ways people might feel pressured to spend money as I can manage.

Who is TASagent?

I'm a Physicist-turned-Programmer, I currently design and build hardware and software for a neuroscience lab. I'm frequently showcasing new features I've implemented into my custom stream-integrated software. More information is [available here](https://tas.wtf/info). Some public programming projects are [located here](https://github.com/TASagent). ## Wait... Where are the Tool-Assisted Speedruns? Believe it or not, I've been using variants of TAS since before the first Tool-Assisted Speedrun existed. Call it a happy accident. That being said, I have plans to extend my bot to start capturing SNES Inputs, and perhaps at some point I'll create a system for playback...

When do I stream?

Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, 8PM to at least 1AM (Pacific). When my job, personal life, and stream-watching schedule allow, I may boot up a bonus stream. Likely late in the evening.

What do I play?

Generally, a combination of Super Mario World Kaizo romhacks and some variety - some puzzle games, some Metroidvanias, perhaps at some point a grand strategy game. Wherever my whims take me.

Romhacks and Games Completed On Stream

You can find all the games and hacks I've completed on stream [on my website](https://tas.wtf/hacks).

Politics

Some opinions are political; for example: ideas of the most effective way to structure social programs for maximum benefit, and how much should be invested in them. Others are simply a matter of human decency and are not subject to the same need for dispassionate consideration; for example: Black Lives Matter and Trans Rights are Human Rights. To insist either of these statements is inherently political is cowardice at best. To say that taking a supportive stance of either one of these statements is _at all_ political is to effectively say that the jury is still out on their personhood. Neutrality is unacceptable - don't be a complacent coward.

Charities

If you have some spare dollars burning a hole in your pocket, consider supporting one or more of the following organizations: [ACLU](https://action.aclu.org/give/now) [Planned Parenthood](https://plannedparenthood.com/donate) [EFF](https://supporters.eff.org/donate/) [The Trevor Project](https://www.thetrevorproject.org/donate/) If this somehow motivates you to give to these organizations, or others, let me know. It will make me feel warm and fuzzy.
