FAQ My name is Tibor, I am from Romania, and I am a self-taught pyrography artist. This is my main activity in every day life. I am trying my best to create beautiful things, and struggling to grow day by day in technique, details, ideas and way of working. I consider there is a lot left to learn and to apply. Pyrography or pyrogravure is the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated object such as a poker. It is also known as pokerwork or wood burning. The term means "writing with fire", from the Greek pur (fire) and graphos (writing). A large range of tones and shades can be achieved. Varying the type of tip used, the temperature, or the way the iron is applied to the material, a lot of different effects can be created.
