The Read Panda (me) is a streamer with a focus on educational games or what I like to call Edu-tainment. I try to be educational and entertain at the same time. Sometimes I only manage one of these but if I do manage that one I consider it a good day. I used to stream under the twitch name OakTree42 but changed as part of a re-branding effort. I am male, over 30 and a bit of a renaissance panda in that I have done many things and studied many topics along my life. I think that learning is a never ending process and hope that I can encourage others to learn something new as well.

This channel is family friendly. The chat should stay family friendly even if the game is not. Be polite to each other. Keep drama to a minimum. No Swearing: This includes acronyms and words that you might find not offensive. Basically if you wouldn't see it in a show on tv for small children, avoid it in chat. No Politics: I know that science often crosses this line in today's age. But try to avoid political discussions. They tend to end badly. No Religion: This like politics is something people often have very strong views on and almost never ends well. I try to be inclusive, understanding and forgiving. Most of the violations will result in a simple purge of the offending text. Repeated violations or things such as racial or sexual slurs will result in harsher measures. Please cooperate to keep this channel a fun and safe place to be!

What's with the whole READ thing? A. The past tense form of Read is pronounced Red, like someone who is well read, or saying I read that book last night. It is a homophone, which is when two words sound alike but are spelled differently and mean different things. It is a play on words! Q. Shouldn't that be the reed panda? A. No, the reed way of saying it refers to the future tense of the word, but in our case it is pronounced as 'red'. Q. Why did you change from OakTree42? A. It was part of a rebranding and refocus on education and using the same name across more media such as youtube and my website. OakTree42 was picked before I ever even thought of being a streamer. I wanted to embrace a new goal and try to make things simple across twitter, youtube and the web. Q. Can I donate? Why are you not a partner? A. You certainly can donate by using the donate link in this panel. As for being a partner, this may happen some day, but I have as of the time of this posting not even applied. Perhaps some day, but not yet. Q. Can I be a moderator in your channel? A. Likely, no. I have some great folks already to help me out.
