### What games to do you play? ### **I love to play FPS's and MMORPG's. While ive played just about every AAA fps over the past 15 years i prefer to stick to more realistic and tactical gameplay. You may see me play Battlefeild or COD ocassionally but for the most part i stay away from them. As for MMORPG's I play WOW and ESO ... Love them both! You may ocasionally see me stream those games if their is enough demand. Im always open to playing new games, but i like to win! ** ### We're you Pro? ### ** Yes, for 3 years/season on RB6 Vegas 1&2. I played i coached and traveld the country. I was on the #2, #1 and #1 teams from 07 to 09. I am no longer pro. I was almost Pro in Gears and Shadowrun! (we call that semi pro, its a long story) As well. Additionally I had a team for RB6 Seige(made up of mostly former pros), we were top of the leaderboards going into season 1, half of us wanted to take it more serious and go pro and half didnt, the team imploded under these diffrences and i took about 10 months off the game because of it. ** ### Why are you no longer a pro? ### ** Partly my decision partly the politics and problems of finding a team. That being said, I prefer streaming to playing competitively as it allows to accomplish more of my dreams in the competitive world**

Thanatos has been a competitive gamer since 1997 when he realized that no one in his neighborhood could beat him. His Name comes from the Greek god of silent death, chosen for his early nickname of “sniper bitch” where in local tournaments the enemy player was often dead before they heard the shot or saw where it came from. Starting out on N64 Thanatos made the transition to PC shooters in 2001 when he played Returned to Castle Wolfenstein. While he excelled in the PC community, Halo became the dominant competitive staple in the community. Through Xbox Connect and local tournaments he dominated the competition… this is when he started to form the basis of his competitive mantra. Utilizing quick reactions and accuracy but more importantly understanding the map, the flow, and predicting enemy movements … he became famous for his grenade accuracy and pistol follow up. Due to lack of online game play Halo did not remain his top priority. With the Xbox Live release in 2002 Thanatos picked up Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon. He Immediately fell in love with its immersion, as It was around this time he was graduating from high school and began preparing to enter the Air Force as a PJ. Ghost recon was the first easily accessible realistic shooter (having previous experience in Rainbow Six Rouge Spear, though the lack of online community was a limiting factor) His first introduction to Ghost Recon was at a friend’s house, literally taking over his families living room for 24hours straight…. He’s sure they weren’t very happy about that as he never got invited back after that… Ghost Recon was Thanatos’s lynch pin, forming the backbone for his competitive career for the next 15 years. Early on Thanatos was picked up by a “clan” on Team Compete. Soon after three members broke off to form TriPPPle Threat. TriPPPle Threat quickly became a top contender on Team Compete due to its dominating game play and unique tactics. At this time, Thanatos’s gameplay was representative as an anchor/support, He played sensors (a device that detected enemies in a small area) with a VZ-58. His primary objective was to place sensors in key locations for the main push and was well known for locking down long line of sights whit accurate long range shots (accept for one MAJOR choke, we don't talk about it!). TriPPPle Threat later went on to form Final Threat, a combination of our sister team, Final Threat dominated the ladders in two short weeks easily taking the number 1 spot and upsetting the competitive community, the two variations dominated Ghost Recon over two games for the span of two years. During this time, many of the names in the Tom Clancy Pro Scene got their start… and would later go on to compete at higher levels. As with teams and communities, Ghost Recon Eventually fizzled out. Thanatos personal life had taken a turn as well with his Dad being diagnosed with terminal heart failure and his brother’s mental disability becoming more of a burden on his family. Due to these issues, Thanatos resigned his enlistment in the Air Force to stay close to home. It was at this time he began playing Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3. He was quickly recognized as a talented player excelling in pre-fires, pushing pre-fire lanes, and flank pushes. This ability earned him a spot on the number one Rainbow team XBLB (Xbox Live brotherhood) This also gavre him access to game battles (a competing site of Team compete… Team compete had become corrupt and un reliable) A few good Friends of the team were important members of the Game Battles team and this gave him a better understanding of the pro community and the competitive scene, encouraging him to grow the community. It was during this time that Thanatos and XBLB dominated the Rainbow Ladders for 3 games, from Rainbow Six 3, Rainbow Six Black Arrow and Rainbow Six Lockdown. Culminating with the undefeated 1st place win of the lockdown ladders. Soon after some his closest friends that had played on all his competitive teams began to talk about MLG. Rumors Swirled, Facts got crossed, Games Changed … Chaos, during this time the competitive game MLG was picking up to supplement Halo Changed many times. This Resulted in Thanatos’s team playing multiple games and eventually falling apart as a result. By the time it was announced that the new Rainbow Six Vegas would be the next MLG title Thanatos had found himself without a team. Unsure of whether or not he would compete, he finally broke down and dedicated himself to forming a team with 3 short weeks to go before the event. He teamed with other old teammates from XBLB (who already had a team going) to form Rated Mature. Due to the time constraints, with the event 2 weeks away, it was a scramble to cement teammates, and finalized the details. This all cumulated with a Semi- pro birth at our first event… all with little to know practice and only one map with strats. After this event Thanatos was approached by the number 1 and 2 teams, as Rated mature couldn’t make the next event he attempted to earn a spot on those teams but was unable to because of the point standings. Without a team, Thanatos began coaching the #1 contender “X”. The Pro Scene is all about social connections and all though Thanatos was widely known this began a 3-year struggle to find a home. He coached the number 1 and number 2 teams and played on semi pro teams… much to MLG officials dislike, but being nice gets you far. Finally, Thanatos co-created iMPACT… A team made of fan that he coached, a former teammate and hid friend. A team of unknowns, for the most part. iMPACT was number #1 going into San Diego… and then the whole world changed. As Thanatos was preparing to step on the main stage at San Diego he got a call informing him his Dad had coded (flat lined) and entered a Coma. He managed to go 1-0 k/d(… quite dismal ) throughout the match and iMPACT won the match. Thanatos attempted to go to the next event, as his dad was one of biggest supporters and wouldn’t want him to give up, but the stress of the situation ended his pro career. His Dad woke up 6 months later but passed away a year after San Diego. With his mom now taking care of his mentally disabled brother, Thanatos settled down and found a job. He continued to play and enjoyed dominating on opti-match, taking a small team and teaching them how to compete, but never entering competition again… 8 Years later Rainbow Six Siege finally came out. Though he once again wanted to compete, he found himself struggling to find the right team. Thanatos had multiple offers but wound up forming his own team, with former MLG pro’s. Though going pro wasn’t the team’s ideal scenario, He wanted to take it serious. His desire to setup practices and work on strats was not a shared philosophy unfortunately. Though the team beat top contenders it eventually caved under these circumstances. At this time Thanatos, doesn’t have any plans to find a team or look for a team, but enjoys playing at the top echelons. Currently Thanatos is trying to grow his family business and fulfill his deep desire to grow the gaming community and competitive scene. He is glowingly concerned about the state of the gaming community and in particular the decline of skillful shooters. Seeing a disturbing trend of gimmicks and lack of actual substance. His goal is to make real skill “cool” again, the kind of skill that is not just evident in how fast your reticle moves but in how you play the game, how you out smart you opponent. He hopes that he can accomplish even a small part of this by reaching out through Twitch, YouTube and his website.
