We had a dog for over 13 years prior and her name was Roxy. We had found out that she had Cancer and three days prior to putting her down there was a really bad storm. This storm had knocked down our fence and we couldn't let Roxy out to use the bathroom. We had called a family friend to help us put the fence back up; and while waiting for him to show up, we heard a knock on our garage. My father and I were in the garage talking when this happened so we just opened the garage door. There was no car in our driveway and we were highly confused till this giant dog walked into our garage. He was super friendly, had no collar on, and well trained. We had taken photos and posted ads all over because there was no way this dog belonged to nobody. My brother and I leashed him and walked him up and down the street to see if anyone recognized him. A few days went by and we got nothing back. So we took him to the vet to make sure he had all his shots up to date before we could actually take him in. ***Queue 6 months Later*** My sister and I took Koda out for a walk in the neighborhood behind our house. When we turned around to go home we heard a "Hey that's my dog" come from behind us. Being the only person in sight with a dog we turned around and the person behind us came up to us telling us that they had lost their dog 6 months ago in a bad storm. The spouse of the person had just came home and showed us photos of Koda and their other dog together, and he has a distinguished mark on him so there's no way he could be mistaken. My dad had just came home from work when he received notification of this interaction and was on his way over. There was nothing we could do so we had to give him back. We had planned on offering them money in return for the dog and if they didn't take our offer we would have given them our dog food and treats. When my father and I went to go over there they weren't home so we went home. A few moments after we arrived there was a knock at the door. It was the previous owner with Koda at the door. When we opened it he tried to bolt into the house - out of their leash. They wanted to give us a chance to fully adopt him before they took him to the pound. Turns out that Koda's brother refused to let him do anything, i.e. eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. So of course we took him in and here we are. :)
