**My name is John, and I am an internet fossil. ** I have been playing video games for as long as I can remember -- beginning with Super Mario Brothers for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Yes... I am that old. I've been on the Minecraft grind for over ten years now, and it's how I met the best friends I will ever have. In my spare time, if you haven't guessed by now, I love to watch Detroit Red Wings hockey (or hockey in general... I really don't care who's playing). I was an on-ice official for fifteen years, and I sort of miss it, but I live in a place now where every drop-in hockey player thinks they're the next Wayne Gretzky so it's just gotten to be less fun over the years. I used to be on the radio -- six years as a sports broadcaster in college, where I, and several of my friends, won Michigan Association of Broadcasters awards for our sports talk show. I also love to sing (especially on Rock Band), but you'll probably never hear me sing because I hate how my voice sounds. I'm overly sensitive to pretty much everything, so please be kind. :)

Kairos: the right, critical, or opportune moment; a propitious moment for decision or action. This is our fourth server in the series. Ethos, Pathos, Logos, and now Kairos. This is technically an RP server where I am the King of Kairos, an area that spreads far across the lands. Subjects who wish to live in the world of Kairos must sign allegiance to the King or be banished to the exiled lands where they can be killed for unauthorized re-entry. Sheep are considered sacred in Kairos and cannot be killed intentionally. We also have laws governing property ownership, general conduct rules, and taxes. I say that we are "technically" an RP server because my core group doesn't really RP, so it's more like we all agree to the rules and don't grief each other's stuff. I'd love to get into more RP Minecraft at some point, but I love my friends more. :D

I play on bedrock, vanilla, survival Minecraft. That means that everything you see was mined and crafted -- no creative menus or infinite resources. I use the [Kelly's RTX pack](https://mcpedl.com/kellys-minecraft-vanilla-rtx-conversion-pack/?cookie_check=1) for ray-tracing, which gives the game the beautiful lighting and effects that ray-tracing has to offer. The link to the pack is available if you click the button above. It's a must-have if you play bedrock and have an RTX graphics card.

So if you're new here, I play Minecraft and talk to chat. That's basically it... I'm not a speedrunner or a Youtuber. I'm not here to "make content" (at least not right now). I am here to make friends, chill with people, and just play Minecraft like nobody's watching. I also work in a field where my public-facing side needs to be kept pretty squeaky clean if I want to keep my job, so I'll be keeping things PG for the most part, and I ask that you do the same. I get frazzled easily, as you'll see from the stream. I have a very short attention span, and I don't do well with trolls -- I used to get really upset and stop streaming, but I'm at this new phase where I'll just ban people. I'm here for me and the community who wants to be here. **So be nice, say hi, make friends, suggest builds, and have fun.** That's what we're here for.
