My name is Yayo, im from Mexico City. Started streaming in 2014 cus i got into speedruns and decided i wanted to speedrun my all time favorite game which is JSRF. Got my first Any% WR in April 2015 and held it mostly for 6 years until i retired with my last any% WR: the legendary crying 1:32:24 in October 2021. Clutch only steals your souls and later opens Fortified Residential Zone if you have 40. You start the game with 20." **Q: "What should I know before my first run?" ** A: "Drink water throughout the run because it's going to be a long one. You have time to go for a quick piss during some of the cutscenes. Join a discord call during your run if you get lonely. Try not to choke on Rokkaku Dai or you'll be listening to plenty Birthday Cake." **Q: "Why don't you unlock other characters?" ** A: "Gum's good enough for any% and it wastes time unlocking other characters. Beat, Combo and Clutch are mandatory in advancing in the story though." **Q: "Which version of the game is the best?" ** A: "NTSC-U standalone provided you can get SS. Otherwise it's a close call between that and NTSC-J. Like in most games, the Japanese versions have fewer message-boxes to spam or wait through. Apparently PAL doesn't allow the SS at all." **Q: "How do you turn a 180 so quickly in JSRF?" ** A: "A quick turn, while skating forwards, move your analog stick down. As you skid, move it to the left, and you'll skate out with speed." **Q: "I don't get it." ** A: "Try jerking the analog stick randomly in odd directions and you'll end up accidentally doing loads of quick turns." **Q: "What does SS stand for?" ** A: "Sewer skip." **Q: "Why do you trick in the air? Isn't it useless?" ** A: "You lose altitude less quickly and don't take fall damage. **Q: "Why don't you quick turn all the time?" ** A: "It's really risky in many situations. The change in perspective from graffiti spraying also makes this harder, not to mention how basic motor-control is lost while spraying (movement is 1-directional while spraying)." **Q: "Why do you grind on the floor after boost dashing?" ** A: "Clicking the analog stick causes you to shuffle, which is able to maintain your current speed (gradually diminishes though)." **Q: "Why do you spam normal jumps on the ground?" ** A: "It maintains speed. Hard jumps don't lose you any speed when you do them, but trick jumps lose a little speed." **Q: "Why do you spam "Y" or "A" when you enter levels?" ** A: "If you don't get airborne or jump when you enter another level and your camera is facing backwards, your controls will be inverted momentarily. Pressing "Y" cancels skids which are common when entering levels." **Q: "Why don't you spray Hayashi in Shibuya Terminal?" ** A: "He takes a while to spray and you're allowed to leave him unsprayed to finish the fight. You can spray him but it's just not worth it." **Q: "How do you jump off rails really fast without a boost dash?" ** A: "The frame boost is when you jump off a railing within 1 frame of embarking it. This puts the speed bonus you received from it into your jump. It's a glitch." **Q: "Why do you spray the save point in Kibo?"** A: "Heli skip requires you to constantly switch characters to reload the level from scratch, resetting the dialogue so you have enough time to spray all the graffiti's in the trigger zone. Reloading the level also reloads the cans. Also, later on there's a golden rhino fight you can skip by using that save point to switch characters. **Q: "How did you just jump through that wall??" ** A: "The devs made a mistake and let that spot in the corner be uncollidable. It's a WTFTPAW (Where They Forgot To Put A Wall). There's a fair few in JSRF." **Q: "Why don't you race Poison Jam in Chuo?" ** A: "We used to, but with the Rip Skip, you can leave them in Chuo since you no longer need to get them to open the train station door for you in Rokkaku Dai Heights." **Q: "Why are you so cautious around the medium spray on the top storey of Rokkaku Dai Heights?" ** A: "It's tricky but you can skip the cop fight there. You need to spray the medium tag and it's REALLY close to the fight trigger so you need to be very careful there." **Q: "Why do you get the tape for Dogenzaka?" ** A: "Jarbo was right all along!
