Hi I'm Patrick! I'm 29 years old and I live in Maine (USA)! I have a bachelors degree in Psychology! Also, you may have noticed I'm sitting in a wheelchair! I have a disability called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (I'll talk about more in a separate panel)! If you ever have any questions about it, I'm happy to answer! I've been active on twitch since 2015 and it's been a wild ride! I got into streaming from watching other's stream and realizing it'd be super fun! I've been streaming since June 2018 and it's been a blast! I stream mostly Nintendo games but will branch out if something catches my eye on another system! You'll see a lot of Zelda games as I'm a big fan (if you couldn't tell)! But I play a decent array of games! I may even do a randomizer here and there! I also casually speedrun. I want to preface that if anyone ever has questions about either my disability and my wheelchair or anything like that, don't be afraid to ask! So my disability is genetic. It's passed on through the mother who is the carrier of the gene. It's passed on through the X chromosome so only boys can have it, although carriers of the disability can also show symptoms, so that means girls can sometimes have it. I was diagnosed at 5 which is typical. What happens is, i have missing exons which make it so I don't produce Dystrophin. Dystrophin is what allows people to make muscle. I don't have that so I can't make muscle. If I do anything over exerting, I make scar tissue instead. So exercise is actually bad for me. Over time all my muscles will get super weak. A little scary, but many die in their twenties, my brother being an example, he had the same thing as me and died at 20. I'm 29 and still going strong though! And there are therapies starting to come out and I'm on one of those medications. The goal of the medication is to skip over the deleted exons, making it so they actually work properly and possibly produce Dystrophin. Yes, it's rocket science.
