Retro Setup

AV Famicom w/NESRGB mod, SNES, Genesis, PCEngine, Gamecube w/GameBoyPlayer, Dreamcast, Saturn, PS2, N64, Raspberry Pi w/Pi2SCART, MiSTer with all the add on boards, PSP, PS3, Xbox360, and Wii, all connected via RGB SCART (except the PSP, Xbox360, PS3 and Wii, which is via Y/Pb/Pr Component into a SCART) through a 2-output gscartsw (with a Shinybow 6x2 strung into it for some extra inputs) to a Panasonic BT-M1950y BVM and a tate-mode (on its side) Sony 14L5 that I play on, and an OSSC, into a Startech.com USB3HDCAP, to you! Also, I might bring out the old Atari 7800 connected through a GVUSB2 via Composite sometimes, as well; there exists no mod for better video than that on the 7800 currently, but it was my main childhood system! All systems I own, I have some way to play pretty much any game I can download, via either softmodding or Everdrives. I even finally tracked down a Cuttle Cart 2, the closest thing to a working Everdrive for Atari 7800 (and let me tell you, that was a bear). I also have a Wii U, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, which I may stream from time to time via the USB3HDCap directly... as well as a few portables I can't currently stream from (New3ds Pokemon Edition, DS, GBA SP, GBA, Game Gear) (though I may eventually end up with a Game Gear modded for streaming).

About Me

I'm a 39 year old man, of many interests, and many talents. Mostly, I'll be streaming retrogames, but really, I may well stream anything I'm in the mood for. My current project is speedrunning Bangai O on Dreamcast; I hold the WR, and am the only person really running it, but am still pushing to greatly improve the run; I even showcased it at SGDQ 2018! When I stream other things, it'll almost always be Retrogames, Indie games, or shmups of any stripe, but may even include the occasional round of League of Legends with friends.

FAQ

1. Is this real console or emulated? > All games I play on consoles will be played on the real console, or MiSTer. Any arcade games are emulated through MAME and played via a Raspberry Pi with Pi2SCART (unless it's a console port, of course), or MiSTer through its analog out, and old 8-bit and 16-bit computers are FPGA simulated through the MiSTer as well. So, in general, if it can be real, it is. 2. If this is real consoles, how does it look so good? > See the setup notes above. If you'd like advice on any of it, let me know. 3. Is that beard real? > Yes, why would it be otherwise? 4. How long did that beard take to grow? > Interesting question. I haven't really trimmed it in the last 6 years or so, but it hasn't grown all that much after the first year. 5. Where are you from? > Mid Michigan, currently. I've lived a few places, though. Fun fact: my current place is the warmest place I've lived in. 6. What's your schedule? > I haven't been streaming much lately, but hope to get back to it soon. Work has been quite demanding, as of late. I have been practicing when I can, but I fit it in in dribs and drabs, not long enough for proper streams.

General Streaming Gear

Shure SM57 Microphone through a XENYX Q502 mixer, 2x Logitech 922 Webcam, AKG K7XX Reference Headphones, and a very good gaming PC I built myself. It's got a Ryzen 7 3800, 32GB Ram, RX590 Graphics Card, an NVME boot drive and a much larger external storage drive, some kind of mechanical keyboard (I own 40 or so, I kind of collect them), and some amazing gaming mouse connected at any given point. When playing computer games, I may utilize one of my large collection of controllers, including a NES30PRO, Fuzion wired XboxOne controller, Steam controller, Logitech flightstick, XArcade Tankstick, Hori RAP4, VKB Gunfighter MCG Ultimate, Thrustmaster TCS throttle, or one of many other random ones lying around. I sort of collect input devices. However, my most used controller is probably my stock JP Saturn controller; that's what I usually use on the MiSTer, via Blisster, or the controllers I use to run Bangai-O, the Hyperkin Warrior PS2 controller via a Total Control adapter (which usually only last about 2-3 months of usage before the D-pad dies on me).
