Biography:

Hi! It's Ardineck! I was a gamer the second my dad hooked up an Atari system to our family TV set and I haven't stopped since - we had a Commodore 64 that I tried writing games for (and failed), I bought an NES system with money I saved up for years and then took my gaming to computers in college and in my professional life. I've played a lot of games on the PC over the years (Warcraft, DOOM, Diablo, X-COM, etc.) but none of them had the appeal that Final Fantasy or Dragon Warrior (or Quest) did for me. I've always loved RPGs of a fantasy nature and MMOs always seemed to be a step too far for me.

LotRO

When I met my wife, I soon found out her FATHER played a little game called The Lord of the Rings Online. I thought I'd have to hide the fact that I like video games and here was my girlfriend's father playing one that actually interested me. I have been playing The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) since March of 2009. My main character is a Hunter, but I'm not subscribing to the game anymore, so I've not bothered to keep up with the endgame content. I also have a Captain, Burglar, Lore-master, Champion, and Rune-keeper, but even then none is quite as "complete" as my Hunter. Every character does get to level 20 unscathed and I pick a profession and promptly max it out and become master of the vocation guild that will help my higher level characters the most. After playing LotRO for quite some time in various kinships, I happened upon a fine group of people who I enjoyed playing with very much. They were great at the game, but also great people. I'm quite proud to call my fellow Misadventurers friends! We currently play on the Arkenstone (formerly, Elendilmir) server, but I've slowly been finding time here and there to create characters on the servers that streamers play, so I have low level "freeps and creeps" on Brandywine, Crickhollow, Landroval, and Gladden.

Guild Wars 2

I haven't purchased this one yet, but it does sit on my computer and I log in there whenever my LotRO kinmates feel like trying something new...or the crashes get too frequent. If I'm on this game, I'm probably questing in some of the earliest areas, but I do like the look and feel of it.

SWtOR

A great number of my fellow LotRO gamers decided to try this once the decision had been made by Turbine (now SSG) to reduce the focus on raids. Most switched from playing it part-time to full-time and I gave it a shot. Not happy with the limits that being F2P put on me, I decided to subscribe to Star Wars: The Old Republic as well, but a lack of playing time meant this game is now also "formerly" subscribed. I'm slowly working my way through the stories of each class. I'm a much bigger fan of the world and time that the original Star Wars movies are set, but I definitely enjoy the game, especially when the guild lists are full (most often on the Imperial side, I've discovered). I think the server name is The Shadowlands.

tESO

I've never played any of the Elder Scrolls saga games, not even Skyrim. I did see that game in action, though, on a visit to my in-laws and was blown away. When it was announced an online version of the universe was being developed, I signed up for an early look and got into either an Alpha or very early Beta of the game. It was probably that experience that made me decide to purchase both the game and the subscription. I play this game more than any other now, but for a long time I played it the least. I like the game a lot, but I'm not in a guild that's active. If I was, maybe I'd actually like the game less? I don't know. I do enjoy that it's a "megaserver" so we don't have to worry about where to play other than "logging in" to the game. I have all the DLC and it's fun to pop in and look around.

Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius

I spent money on this "collect and battle" game. Too much. More than $100. It's ridiculous that I did, because you have to either spend thousands (yes, THOUSANDS) or shouldn't spend any. Spending a little is kind of pointless. I LOVE Final Fantasy, though, so I do like playing this game. I play it a lot and I like the community online and especially at Twitch. If you play and would like to add me, my friend ID is 276, 823, 157, but I'm constantly weeding out players who seem to have quit the game (I give players about 15 days to log in or I make room for new daily players).

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes

This is a game where you "collect" heroes and villains from the Star Wars universe and use them to battle. I like Star Wars, but I'll never spend money on this game. It's a nice diversion, but I haven't stuck with it at all.

Fallout Shelter

It's a fun little time waster. I like it enough to play it on occasion, but mostly I just log in for the daily rewards.

H1Z1: King of the Kill

I started playing this after watching streamers do so and thinking it looked like fun. Too many "glitchy" players for my taste. It WOULD be fun if it wasn't so badly infected with exploiters. The new auto battle royale looks fun.

Fortnite

This is the "game du jour" it seems, picking up steam while PU:BG seems to be cooling off. It's a more cartoon-ish kind of game, but it is fun. I'm just a terrible builder. TERRIBLE. I'm also trying to learn how to lead shots, because I seem to aim right at players, even when they're standing still. Streamers seem to do the same but get hits. I don't. I don't know why I'm not as accurate as what it looks like on my screen. It's still fun, even if you're dying. It's FREE, too!

I play other games on stream, but I'd stream more if people wanted to play together. Some of the games like the older Final Fantasy ones that are solo are a little harder to do that with, plus I like to take my time and search for EVERY chest and secret in games like that, but I'd certainly like playing with a group better. I have a Discord server, like just about everyone else! If you are a regular in chat and want to play together, let me know.
