general first aid would be: 1) always stay with the person, 2) pay attention to time - how much time between seizures n how long it takes person to recover, 3) stay calm - also reassure the person that its okie n that they r safe, 4) keep them safe - if they fell, keep their head cushioned with a hoodie, pillow, or even ur hands - if they r just wandering around, guide them from hitting something, going somewhere unsafe like traffic, or remove objects away from them so they do not get further injuries, 5) keep onlookers back - basically if out at a store, keep nosey ppl back to give person with seizure some air bc waking/coming to while theres a crowd of ppl could be embarrassing n confusing n cause more seizures, 6) do NOT hold the person down or restrain them in any way, shape, or form - u can gently hold their head from hitting the floor but do not keep it from shaking, or if having a gran mal - dont hold their arms, legs, or body down to prevent them from flailing (lack of better words), 7) do NOT put something in their mouth - that can cause more problems from biting a chunk off item n choking on it, or even break their teeth - also please do not think that they can swallow their tongue ( its physically impossible unless they took a chunk off of their tongue), 8) make sure their breathing is okie - if they r lying down, turn them to their left side with their mouth toward the ground ( this helps them breath more easily, helps their heart keep in rhythm, n keep saliva from blocking airway) n 9) know when to call 911 - a seizure lasting more than 5 min, trouble breathing, appears to be choking, any injury during seizure, happens in water (pool, bathtub/shower) repeatly having seizures without coming to in between, or if its their first seizure - theres way more info on their website but this is general info/clipped notes
