Born in 1983. Physically mature, mentally.. less so. Love collecting video games and to laugh. Shaved, inked, crunchy on the outside, weird on the inside. I'm a guy who has been a gamer since the late 80s when my dad brought our first NES into the living room. Most of the times, I like to revisit the old games that shaped me into the gamer I am today; three lives, one hit and no continues. OLD SCHOOL! The purpose of this channel is two-fold: (1) To get closure with the old games that I played growing up, but never beat. (2) To get to play the games that I never got to play as I grew up but WANTED to play. But even though I dedicate this channel to the classics, I will not restrict my channel to such games; I will probably play some modern games as well from time to time. Welcome to my channel! :) Kick off your shoes and relax!

Wanna add me on social media and/or gaming services? This is my contact information: * YOUTUBE Egobyte83 This is where I post all digital content made by me; personal videos as well as exported highlights from this channel. Most of the older content is in swedish. However, as I am now exporting episodes from Twitch to Youtube, you can be sure that all english-speaking content will be backed up over there as well. There is an extra feature to my web series "Going 16-bit" on Youtube which is not present on Twitch; a few episodes consist of me sitting alongside a friend on the couch where we're doing classic local multiplayer sessions in retro games. Though these are also in swedish. * STEAM Egobyte83 * PSN Egobyte83 * TWITTER Egobyte83 * INSTAGRAM egobyte83

As a casual player that does not speedrun, I do my best to avoid the use of savestates. I really aim to beat most of the old school games from my past in the most authentic way possible. However, there are circumstances in which their use will be permitted. That is when I may employ my "Savestate Policy". Using savestates in games that are inherently unfair should not be considered cheating, because its really not if you use them sparingly. Not to mention the fact that some of the old school NES classics just CAN NOT BE BEATEN without savestates and no Youtube video will convince me otherwise. :P #Casual All joking aside, when you have mastered a level to the point where you only waste time by constantly having to do it all over again simply to get back to a specific "bottleneck" where you died several times is a good example of when I consider savestates to be acceptable; respawning right before that bottleneck will cut away so much wasted time and keep the stream going at an acceptable pace. As such, savestates are merely to be considered effective tools to speed up the learning process; a learning process which would otherwise take too long and use too much repetition, which in turn would risk taking the fun out of the whole experience. However, savestates must not be abused by the gamer. Savestating because of laziness instead of necessity is a classic example of abusing the system and many people do it. Therefore I have set what I consider to be reasonable limits and subsequent conditions to the use of my savestates. These are: (1) In linear level-progression games such as sidescrollers, two specific intervals will outline the allowed usage of the savestate: (1A) At the start of a new level (1B) At the start of a boss fight (2) If a game is considered to be either frustratingly difficult or time-wastingly confusing, the standard savestate policy will be ammended and upgraded to a dynamic state where I save every now and then, i.e "Save Scumming". Not accounting for any save scumming situations, these two levels of savestating are the only allowed conditions that I will allow concerning the use of savestates in classic hardcore sidescrolling games for consoles such as the NES and the SNES. (Save Scumming) If the frustration becomes too unbearable, a special Save Scumming clause will be put into effect where I will be granted permission to save scum after every encounter with every new singular opponent which I am able to overcome or after every succesful hit on a boss without getting hit once. (Darth Vader in Super Empire Strikes Back or Carnage in Maximum Carnage comes to mind as examples) However, this method is always to be considered the most extreme of last resorts and is something I otherwise will attempt to avoid at all costs.

Donations are always appreciated, but never required. To me it is all about the thrill of revisiting the past. However, if you would like to contribute, you are most welcome to do so by clicking the banner or just by [CLICKING HERE](https://twitch.streamlabs.com/egobyte83) Donations will go towards improving my stream by any means necessary. Hopefully, this will make you feel truly part of my community by personally contributing to the refining of the production quality. :) NO REFUNDS. But rest assured that if you donate, that money will be put to good use. To any and all donors I say "Thank you so very much! :D You really have no idea how much I appreciate your support."

* NO SPEED RUNS! Casual only * With very few exceptions, I stay away from MOBAs entirely. * Some slight inebriation may occur, though it is extremely rare and never in any way offensive or inappropriate * Attempts at 100% completion is not really my thing, unless specifically stated that I will do it * Give-aways, raffles and all of that will not be a thing before I've had a chance to do some research into the subject * No Spoilers please and hints only if I ask for it * Text-based sarcasm confuses me. I'm just sayin'.
