Welcome to the Clowder. Being a grown ass woman with responsibilities is hard, so about every other week I like to come here and pretend that I’m not one. I am an old school gamer girl who grew up during a time when gaming was almost exclusively reserved for boys and we ladies were just trying to shoulder our way in. I used to watch my cousins play on their Gameboys and the early Playstation consoles with envy. I bought the original Nintendo console at a pawn shop in the rough part of town and saved all my allowance to buy a Sega Genesis and two games – Sonic the Hedgehog and Jurassic Park. I was terrible at both, but happy to be there. I missed out on a lot of gaming opportunities through the years doing the vital work required to earn my doctorate (I am an IRL doctor who takes care of fur babies) and make something of myself in the real world, but now I’m back on the gaming scene and relishing it. I believe gaming not only brings us entertainment and an escape from the monotony of everyday life, but also a way to keep our creative minds in motion and our cognitive functions active. This is a variety channel. I am here to learn from others, but largely I am here to create something uniquely my own for better or for worse. I value helpful input when I’m gaming, but please know that I will choose my own path. If it doesn’t work out the best, we can all have a good laugh about it. My goal is to have a great time in good humor and not take myself or the games we play together here too seriously.
