# FAQS **What is Batik?** Batik is the art of using wax and powdered dyes to create design on cloth. The applied wax resists dyes and therefore allows the artisan to colour selectively by adding dyes to the cloth and repeating if multiple colours are desired. **How did you get into batik?** I was introduced to batik through a weekend art workshop at a community center. I later joined the organization as one of the artist and have taught batik since then. **Do you use other mediums?** I am working on my digital art skills but I also work with watercolour, however my main medium is batik. **How long have you been doing art?** I have been doing art since I was a bebe. **What got you into the arts?** I wanted to draw my own characters and make my own comics. **Do you do commissions?** Yes!
