ohhaii o/ hope you're all staying safe ♥ I'll probably get asked this question, so I'll answer it here. ## What happened to your affiliate status on twitch? There are a few factors to this. ##The main reason being * Have you seen my stream schedule? literally once a month / once every two months total. While this may change in the future due to current day predicaments, I don't find it fair for those 5 people who continued their subs to me for a once in a blue moon stream. I get it, it's not my decision to make for them if they want to continue to support me or not. But that doesn't make me feel better about it. If you really wanna sub, sub to my [youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/user/iamqstnmrk) instead, it's free compared to subbing here. I will multistream there if you want transcoding/ quality options. ##Why did I sign up in the first place * Truth be told, I signed up purely to get a chance at transcoding (quality options). It was never about the money or the emotes, though having emotes that never expire and customised to my liking was pretty neat, it was never a consideration to that. As for transcoding, I hardly got it to begin with. If I restarted my stream like 10 times I'll be bound to get it, sure. But that's a hassle. * Not only that, but with the introduction of paying for your affiliate status (via monstercat, while I know it's most likely not going to give it to you anymore) it shows that affiliate status is cheap, and that this diminishes the chances for transcoding, because I'll have less of a chance on top of already not having transcoding. ##What I didn't like about being an affiliate * First and foremost, the whole selling your likeness idea really rubs me the wrong way and something I didn't want to get behind. While I get that any streaming on twitch gives a license to your likeness, but still.. * The whole exclusivity thing is also something I didn't like. Sure, it's a 24hr ish exclusivity, but with how busy or hectic my life can be sometimes, 24 hours feels like forever ago and I won't remember to reupload a stream I liked or a clip I liked to a place where they'll stay longer than the allotted 14 days. * ***But I've seen partners and affiliates multistream so it doesn't seem like it's enforced.*** Truth be told, you signed a contract. ***IF*** they decide to take action, you're screwed. * I can't speak for other people, but for me.. After getting affiliate status, it felt more like a numbers game and not the streaming that I used to do. That really destroys the fun and really gets to you. There were others but these were the ones I can remember for now.
