My name is **Sarah Lightman.** I'm a full time recording artist and singer/songwriter newly based in Nashville, Tennessee (originally from Central New Jersey) moved here from an 8 year Los Angeles residency. I started in music as a street performer in Downtown Burbank, CA and climbed to having my music video featured on the jumbotron at Universal CityWalk, Los Angeles while performing at various residencies all over the city and touring on the East Coast - including the NAMM Mainstage and CityWalk. By sharing the adversity I overcome, the resilience I develop, and the wisdom I learn, I hope to help others know they can face their fears and live beyond theirs too. Known for a uniquely soulful voice and smooth, clear tone that cuts like a knife, I aims to provide a refreshing outlet for pop listeners. I advocate for mental health through music because: 1. My father passed away when I was 14, and he was an outspoken advocate for improving mental health through the arts. People need to see that they are worth it and they must never give up fighting for their value, no matter the shortcomings and battles they endure. Not only are you not alone, but it's okay to get help when we are struggling. 2. I have survived and healed from C-PTSD, and I have learned how to manage ADHD with a lot of therapy. Wearing these shoes, I see it's important to deflate the stigma of mental health especially in today's world.
