I'm a software design engineer in QA who also studied industrial and systems engineering. I'm all about challenging the norm, questioning why things are the way they are. I aspire to sensibly and mindfully better myself and people around me, even when it's the more difficult road.

**Respect.** No profanity is off limits, but there is zero tolerance for hate speech and harassment, especially derogatory generalizations. First-time ignorance is understandable, but arrogant stupidity is not welcome. **Engage critical thinking.** "Why?" is by far the most under-asked question in modern society. Recognize that message, medium, action, and intent are different and ALL of importance. Playing victim is highly frowned upon. **Informed, consensual browsing.** Provide context for links, and please, no URL obfuscation. **Don't be the one who necessitates more rules. I do not tolerate BS.**

**Hello, you can call me Fails!**  I'm a lightly-competitive variety gamer who dislikes conforming to the meta. There's an allure to creativity and embracing the jank. I'm also a weeb and degenerate of the highest order, as well as a cosplayer. I design and create both outfits and props. Despite being an engineer by trade, exercising and expressing my creativity alongside critical thinking has always been a deep part of who I am.  I'm a trans girl, so please refer to me properly. My native language is English, but I know some conversational Mandarin and Cantonese. I am currently also studying Japanese, Korean, and Esperanto. **What is my story?**  I bumbled my way through teenage years of schooling, between bullying and an identity crisis. I entered university with passionate dreams of researching human genetic engineering, but left with a degree in computer science and engineering and certification within industrial and systems engineering.  After that, I felt aimless and lost, so in 2016, I decided to stream on Twitch. Despite putting in full-time hours, it didn't take off. Back then, it just wasn't good enough to meet minimum requirements. I had to prioritize, so I quit streaming.  I stepped into the high-tech business world, identity crisis in tow, and started working longer than full-time hours for less than entry level pay. It came as no surprise, that less than a year later, my mental and emotional health were on the rapid decline.  Fast forward another two years. I have started working on healing - on being the real me. My overworking, underpaying job still leaves me miserable at the end of every workday. I decided I had to do something about it, and so I developed a plan to start a new solo venture on the side. I'm still a corporate slave, was a homemaker, and am now a burgeoning entrepreneur seeking to chase dreams and make them a reality. If you're reading this, I welcome you to accompany me on this journey.  — FailsWithTails
