Character Designer and Cartoonist.

About Me

Panel Content
Tad Lambert was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Raised on a steady diet of Saturday morning cartoons and Sunday magazine funny pages, he knew he wanted to be a cartoonist or an animator when he grew up. After turning 15 and refusing to go work at Burger King, he was fortunate enough to get his first job as a caricature artist at a local theme park. There he honed his drawing abilities and design skills while drawing publicly for guests visiting the park. After a couple of years of working in the park he knew that he wanted more out of his art career. He was inspired to pursue his dream of becoming a cartoonist after picking up Don Bluth's "Art of Animation"and "The Art of Storyboards". This lead to him working next at Falcon's Tree House as a designer, where he realized he wanted to pursue character design most. He developed a knack for using his caricature abilities along with his knowledge of design to create any characters clients needed. Soon after he started getting more professional opportunities, the next was working as a storyboard artist on a small film called "Seven Days in Utopia". Next he was on to Fort Lauderdale to work with a company called Animatic Media as a story board artist. Most recently, he worked as a character designer on Mattel's toy line and an award winning short "Danny and the Wild Bunch". He has also begun illustrating for magazine companies like IDW publishing and IP magazine. Tad is focused on improving his artistic abilities even more and become a dominant character designer in any media that allows his cartoony way of drawing to flourish. In his spare time he works on developing his own comic book and other independent IPs.

What DO I use

Panel Content
I mostly start with a good ol fashion piece of White computer paper, working and working till i find a design. Then it's off to the the computer where I scan the image and i have a choice of working in either: CLIP STUDIO PAINT SKETCHBOOK PRO ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ( a very old version) Hopefully I'll turn completely digital, but i doubt it. Nothing beats a good piece of paper and the feeling of the pencil against something with texture.
