I'm Styx! I play a lot of Apex Legends, FFXIV, Genshin Impact, the new Pokemon Violet, etc. but I consider myself a variety streamer. There are many games in my backlog that I am slowly getting through via streaming. I am bisexual, polyamorous and love randomly singing along with my music. Up until about a year ago, I struggled really hard with depression and anxiety, and streaming was really a hassle. I started seeing a therapist and psychiatrist, and was diagnosed with bipolar, social phobia, and ADHD, all of which I now take meds for. These meds enable me to be the (sorta) functioning adult you see on stream! They've helped me so much, my life has drastically changed over the past year. That being said, I still have my bad days, so try to cut me some slack. **How old are you?** 29 **How long have you been playing games?** For as long as I can remember. My first console was a N64 (my first handheld was a Gameboy). **How long have you been streaming?** I have been streaming on and off since August of 2016, but I started streaming on a schedule in March (2017). **Why don't you want people to give you tips while you play games?** I personally believe that unless a game is frustrating me to the point of wanting to quit, figuring out HOW to do things is what makes them fun. **So...Styx the band or the river?** Both, although the name itself originally was given to me by my brothers. I wanted a "game name" in Smash Brothers Melee, and my brother named me Styx. As a kid, I thought it was supposed to be a cool way to spell "sticks", but later came to realize it was because my parents were big Styx fans. I remain with the name "the mermaid styx" because I love the idea of a mythological mermaid luring people into the river Styx.
