I think it's awesome when people want to help out with edits and proofing my work. However, there's a few things to be aware of. * It's often **distracting**. While writing, I'm concentrating on getting the words on the page. While I do try for correct grammar, it's not a priority. It's more about *finishing* than being *perfect*. * It is really difficult sometimes to apply an edit. Where I am looking is often no where near the suggested change. Finding the right spot can be a awkward process. * There's differences in writing style, presentation, and even theme of the work. An edit may be appropriate but may not be useful. With the above in mind, if someone really wants to help out, I'm often happy to share a document with edit privileges to make the changes much easier.

* Don't be a jerk. Treat others with respect. Don't mess with the mods. Be excellent to each other. You know, the social rules any reasonably conscientious person should live by. * Instant gratification is usually absent.
